WVB line-up 2010/11
In connection with paternal leave of Maja and Wojtek, WVB line-up for season 2010/11 is changing.
To the team returned - known and loved - Magda Sobczak - dulcimer, voice and Sylwia Świątkowska - violin, fiddle from Plock, suka from Bilgoraj, voice. We’ll also continue our co-operetion with violinist Ewa Wałecka and bassist Paweł Mazurczak.
Line up of WVB for season 2010/11 is as follows:

We also modified tracklist: in addition of songs from the last album "Infinity", you will heard also sounds from the "Uprooting" and "People's Spring" and some premiere pieces.

Fryderyk Award - Infinity!
Yesterday already for the 16th time Polish artists, journalists and music business representatives organized in Phonographic Academy awarded their prizes for 2009, called Fryderyk (Frederic) after Chopin. Warsaw Village Band was awarded in the category album of the year - folk / world music for 'Infinity'. Its 3rd Fryderyk for WVB (Uprooting 2006, Upmixing 2008). HAT TRICK!!!
Infinity - best world music album of 2009 by Popmatters (USA)!
Popmatters, which is one of the main online magazine for music in USA , just voted"Infinity" best world music album of the year, and over all 39st best album of the year of all genres!
"Infinity" won with such a stars as Omou Sangare, Tinariwen and Khaled!

After almost 4 years of silence at last we will back to Unites States and Canada!
Hope that You will support WVB during the tour (Maja and Wojtek will have to leave Lena for so long for ths first time...) and this 8 gigs will be great adventure for all of us!
