BRINGING THE VILLAGE TO TOWN - No. 314/315, Aug/Sept 2009
Poland’s Warsaw Village Band are now the country’s best known roots music export.

Once again we had chance to play one of the greatest festivals - Sines in Portugal.
Thanks to Carlos and crew we could share this Sines experience after 5 years.

So at last we had chance to play for fantastic crowd of Glastonbury Festival.
We want to thank You for your presence during our show and lovely atmosphere of the whole Glasto!
It was absolutely amazing experience and to be honest... we had never expected that our gig can bring so many people at the front of the Jazz-World stage. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
After Roskilde, Siget, Womad - Glasto was the last missing jewel in our biggest Europe's festival crown.

Fyderyk Award for "Upmixing"
Yesterday already for the 15th time Polish artists, journalists and music business representatives organized in Phonographic Academy awarded their prizes for 2008, called Fryderyk (Frederic) after Chopin. Warsaw Village Band was awarded in the category album of the year - folk / world music for 'Upmixing'. Its 2nd Fryderyk for WVB (Uprooting 2006).
We hope next year band will get a "hattrick" and take Fryderyk for "Infinity":-) (fot. cgm.pl)
